FloodCheckGH runs in your web browser. There are no accounts, no server that stores your data, no database, no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking — we do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. The one thing that leaves your device is the location you look up, which is sent to the map and data services listed below to compute your result (see the next section).
To draw maps and compute flood risk, your browser sends the location you choose (a map click, a GPS fix, or a search term) directly to these third-party services. FloodCheckGH itself receives and stores nothing.

Each service processes the request under its own privacy policy. FloodCheckGH does not add identifiers to these requests and never receives a copy of the results server-side.
If you install the app or use it offline, a service worker caches the app files and recently viewed map tiles
on your own device so it works without a connection. Nothing is uploaded. Clear it any time via your
browser’s site-data / “clear storage” settings. We use no cookies and no localStorage for personal data.
“Use my location” only runs when you tap it and your browser grants permission. The coordinates are used to place the map pin and to make the lookups above — they are not logged or retained by FloodCheckGH.
If you tap “Report flooding here”, the app opens your own email program with a message pre-filled (the location’s coordinates and a short template) addressed to info@floodcheckgh.com. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. This is the only case where information reaches us directly — and only because you emailed it. We use it solely to review and, if verified, add the flood record with a source.
Flood ratings are informational and combine documented history with modelled terrain data. They are not a substitute for a professional site survey, valuation, or insurance assessment.
